Can I prevent clients from booking me back-to-back? (Creating Buffers)
Yes, you can. Preventing back-to-back bookings is crucial for giving yourself time to prepare for the next meeting or to wrap things up from the previous one. TidyCal calls this feature "Buffers."
A buffer adds a block of unavailable time either before or after your scheduled events, ensuring you always have breathing room in your calendar.
How to Set Up Buffers
- From your TidyCal Dashboard, go to the Booking Types section.
- Select the booking type you want to add a buffer to.
- On the editing page, find the section Availability. You will see inputs for Buffer time before/after bookings.
- Set your desired buffer time in minutes
- Example: A 1-hour meeting with a 10-minute will block a total of 1 hour and 10 minutes from your calendar for each booking made.
- After setting your desired buffer times in minutes, scroll to the bottom and click Save Booking Type.
Your calendar will now automatically protect your time, preventing burnout from a wall-of-meetings schedule.
