Can I prevent clients from booking me back-to-back? (Creating Buffers)

Yes, you can. Preventing back-to-back bookings is crucial for giving yourself time to prepare for the next meeting or to wrap things up from the previous one. TidyCal calls this feature "Buffers."

A buffer adds a block of unavailable time either before or after your scheduled events, ensuring you always have breathing room in your calendar.

How to Set Up Buffers

  1. From your TidyCal Dashboard, go to the Booking Types section.
  2. Select the booking type you want to add a buffer to.
  3. On the editing page, find the section Availability. You will see inputs for Buffer time before/after bookings.
  4. Set your desired buffer time in minutes
  • Example: A 1-hour meeting with a 10-minute will block a total of 1 hour and 10 minutes from your calendar for each booking made.
  1. After setting your desired buffer times in minutes, scroll to the bottom and click Save Booking Type.

Your calendar will now automatically protect your time, preventing burnout from a wall-of-meetings schedule.
