How far in advance can clients book me?
TidyCal lets you control how far into the future clients can book appointments. This prevents bookings months in advance when your schedule might change. The setting uses a rolling window and is configured per booking type. Available on all plans.
Setting your future booking limit
- Go to Booking types in the sidebar.
- Click to edit the booking type you want to configure.
- In the editor sidebar, click Restrictions.
- Find the setting: Allow bookings [number] days ahead.
- Enter the number of days. The default is 60 days.
- Click Save at the top of the editor.
How it works: Rolling window
This feature uses a rolling window:
- If set to 30 days, a client visiting your booking page today sees only dates within the next 30 days.
- Each day the window rolls forward. On August 1st, they can book up to August 31st. On August 2nd, they can book up to September 1st.
Troubleshooting
No dates showing for clients
- If the booking window is set too low (e.g., 1 day) and combined with a high minimum notice, no slots may be available. Increase the days ahead value.
- Ensure your availability schedule has open time slots within the booking window.
Clients booking too far out
- Reduce the days ahead value. Try 14 or 30 days for tighter control.

Team booking types note: The troubleshooter checks only the plan owner's calendar events and existing bookings, not each host individually. For team booking types (Collective or Round Robin), the slots shown here may differ from what your public team booking page displays — each team member should also check their own Default Availability, connected calendar, and existing TidyCal bookings.
