How can I prevent last-minute bookings?
You can prevent clients from booking you at the last minute. This feature, often called "Minimum Booking Notice," ensures you always have enough advance warning to prepare for an upcoming appointment.
Setting Your Minimum Booking Notice
This setting is controlled individually for each booking type.
- From your TidyCal Dashboard, go to the Booking Types section.
- Select the booking type you want to edit.
- On the editing page, scroll down to the Availability restrictions. Look for a field labeled Require minimum booking notice of.
- Enter a number and choose the unit of time (minutes, hours, or days).
- After setting your desired notice period, scroll to the bottom and click Save Booking Type.
How It Works: An Example
Let's say you set your minimum scheduling notice to 24 hours.
- If a client views your booking page on Tuesday at 3:00 PM, the earliest time they will be able to book with you is Wednesday at 3:00 PM. All available slots before that time will be hidden.
This gives you a full day's notice, preventing any surprise same-day appointments and giving you ample time to prepare. You can set this to anything you like, from 30 minutes to several days.
