Upgrading Your TidyCal Plan

Upgrade your TidyCal plan to Individual Lifetime, Pro, or Agency Lifetime — choose a one-time AppSumo deal or a monthly/yearly Pro subscription on TidyCal.

TidyCal Plans

TidyCal offers four plans — one Free, two one-time Lifetime deals from AppSumo, and a recurring Pro subscription billed by TidyCal:

Pro vs Agency Lifetime: Pro removes all TidyCal branding from your booking pages and includes a custom domain. Agency Lifetime keeps reduced TidyCal branding. Otherwise the two plans share the same team features. Pro is recurring; Agency Lifetime is one-time.

How to Subscribe to Pro

Pro is a recurring subscription billed by TidyCal via Stripe. You can subscribe at any time, regardless of whether you have a Lifetime plan.

  1. Go to SettingsYour plan.
  2. Click Subscribe to Pro. This redirects you to the Pricing page.
  3. On the Pro card, choose Monthly or Yearly using the billing-interval toggle (yearly saves you about 31% compared to paying monthly).
  4. Click the Subscribe button on the Pro card.
  5. Complete the Stripe Checkout form with your payment details.
  6. After payment, Stripe redirects you back to Settings → Your plan with the message “Welcome to Pro! Your subscription is now active.”
  7. Pro features unlock immediately, including no TidyCal branding on your booking pages, custom domain, priority support, and 25 calendar connections.

Pro is a paid subscription with no free trial. If you want to try Agency-tier features for free, see the Free Trial section below for the 30-day Agency Lifetime trial.

Manage Your Pro Subscription

Once you have an active Pro subscription, your Subscribe to Pro button on Settings → Your plan is replaced with a Manage subscription button. This opens the Stripe Customer Portal in a new tab.

From the Stripe Customer Portal you can:

  • Update your payment method
  • Cancel your subscription (continues until the end of the current billing period)
  • Resume a cancelled subscription before it lapses
  • View and download invoices

The same Manage subscription button is also available on the Pro card on the Pricing page when you are signed in with an active Pro subscription.

Switch Between Pro Monthly and Pro Yearly

The Stripe Customer Portal does not support mid-cycle plan changes between Pro Monthly and Pro Yearly. To switch:

  1. Go to Settings → Your plan → Manage subscription.
  2. In the Stripe Customer Portal, cancel your current subscription. It continues until the end of the current billing period.
  3. After your current period ends and your subscription is no longer active, return to Settings → Your plan and click Subscribe to Pro again.
  4. On the Pro card, choose the other interval (Monthly or Yearly) and complete checkout.

Your Pro features remain active until the original period ends.

When Your Pro Subscription Ends

If your Pro subscription is cancelled or fails to renew, the change takes effect at the end of the current billing period (Stripe's default behavior). When the period ends:

  • Your account reverts to its underlying plan — Agency Lifetime, Individual Lifetime, or Free Plan, depending on what you had before subscribing to Pro.
  • If you had no Lifetime plan, your account reverts to the Free Plan.
  • Your data is preserved: bookings, calendars, contacts, Stripe connection, and booking types all remain intact.
  • Pro-only features (no booker branding, custom domain on the user level for non-grandfathered Individual Lifetime, priority support) are no longer available.

Combining Pro with an Agency or Individual Lifetime

If you already own an Agency Lifetime or Individual Lifetime plan, you can add Pro on top:

  • Agency Lifetime + Pro: your account moves to the Pro tier, which gives you all Agency features plus full removal of TidyCal branding from your booking pages.
  • Individual Lifetime + Pro: your account moves to the Pro tier with all Pro features, including team features, custom domain, and no booker branding.
  • Use the same Subscribe to Pro flow described above. Your Lifetime plan stays active under the Pro subscription.
  • If you cancel Pro later, your account reverts to your original Lifetime plan.

Upgrade Lifetime Plans via AppSumo

Lifetime plans (Individual and Agency) are sold exclusively through AppSumo. To buy a Lifetime plan or upgrade from Individual to Agency, you must use AppSumo.

If you are on the Individual Lifetime plan and want to upgrade to Agency Lifetime, you only pay the $50 difference (not the full $79). Here is how:

  1. Make sure your AppSumo license has been activated. If not, use the Actions dropdown on the Products page of your AppSumo account to activate it.
  2. Go to the Products page of your AppSumo account.
  3. Click the Actions dropdown next to TidyCal and select Change Plan.
  4. Review your current plan and click the button for the plan you want to upgrade to.
  5. Add your billing information and select Next: Payment.
  6. Choose your preferred payment method.
  7. Confirm your selection by clicking Confirm change.

You can also find a direct link to your AppSumo upgrade page on SettingsYour plan, where the Upgrade button links you to AppSumo.

Apply an AppSumo License Code

If you bought TidyCal through AppSumo and your TidyCal account is still on the Free Plan, you may need to apply your AppSumo license code manually. Go to SettingsYour plan and use the license-code field to attach your AppSumo Lifetime plan to your account.

Free Trial (Agency Plan, 30 Days)

Free Plan users can start a 30-day free trial of the Agency Lifetime plan to try out team features. No credit card required.

The trial CTA is on the Teams page in your dashboard, not the Pricing page.

  1. In the sidebar, click Teams.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page. If you have not yet used a trial, you will see a Start Free Trial button with the subtext “30 days of TidyCal Agency Lifetime FREE. No credit card required.”
  3. Click Start Free Trial. Your account immediately gains 30 days of full Agency Lifetime access, including team booking pages, round robin, collective meetings, and SMS reminders (where available).
  4. After the trial ends, your account reverts to the Free Plan unless you purchase Individual or Agency Lifetime via AppSumo or subscribe to Pro on TidyCal.

Already used the trial? If you have already used the Agency Lifetime trial on this account, you will see Upgrade to enable Teams in the same banner area instead of Start Free Trial. Click that to go to the Pricing page and choose a paid plan.

Pro has no free trial. Pro is a paid subscription. To try Pro's no-branding behavior or other Pro-only features, subscribe to Pro Monthly — you can cancel at any time and your subscription will continue until the end of the current period.

After Upgrading

Once your upgrade is complete:

  • Pro: features for your new plan are available immediately. The success message “Welcome to Pro! Your subscription is now active.” appears on Settings → Your plan.
  • Lifetime via AppSumo: your account is updated to the new Lifetime plan within a few minutes of completing the AppSumo upgrade. Refresh Settings → Your plan to see your new tier.
  • Pro and legacy Stripe Lifetime purchases appear in Purchase history on Settings → Your plan, with invoice links.
  • If you had an active Agency Lifetime trial, it ends as soon as you purchase any paid plan or subscribe to Pro.

Troubleshooting

I purchased via AppSumo but I do not see my Lifetime plan in TidyCal

If your Lifetime plan does not appear in Settings → Your plan, your AppSumo license may not be activated. Go to the Products page of your AppSumo account and activate your license. If your license is activated but TidyCal still shows you on the Free Plan, use the license-code field on Settings → Your plan to apply the license to your TidyCal account, or contact support@tidycal.com.

Why does the Subscribe to Pro button redirect to the Pricing page?

This is expected. The Subscribe to Pro button on Settings → Your plan takes you to the Pricing page so you can choose between Pro Monthly ($12/month) and Pro Yearly ($99/year) using the billing-interval toggle. After you click Subscribe on the Pro card, you go directly to Stripe Checkout.

Where is the “Upgrade to Agency Plan” button on Settings → Your plan?

Lifetime upgrades (Individual to Agency) now happen on AppSumo, not on TidyCal. Click the Upgrade button on Settings → Your plan if you have an AppSumo upgrade URL, or follow the Upgrade Lifetime Plans via AppSumo steps above.

My Pro Stripe payment did not go through

  • Verify your card details and try again.
  • Try a different payment method in Stripe Checkout.
  • If the issue persists, contact support@tidycal.com.

I subscribed to Pro but my new features aren't showing

  • Refresh Settings → Your plan to confirm the success message “Welcome to Pro! Your subscription is now active.” is shown.
  • If you see “Your subscription is being activated. It may take a moment to appear.”, wait 30-60 seconds and refresh.
  • If your plan still shows as Free, log out and back in.
  • If the issue persists, contact support@tidycal.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Pro a subscription or a one-time payment?

Pro is a recurring subscription billed by TidyCal via Stripe. You choose either $12/month or $99/year. Individual Lifetime ($29) and Agency Lifetime ($79) are one-time payments sold via AppSumo.

Are the Lifetime plans subscriptions?

No. Individual Lifetime and Agency Lifetime are one-time payments. There are no recurring charges for Lifetime plans.

Does Pro have a free trial?

No. Pro is a paid subscription with no free trial. Free Plan users can start a 30-day Agency Lifetime trial from the Teams page (see the Free Trial section above), but Pro itself does not include a trial period.

Can I get a refund after upgrading?

Refund eligibility depends on how you purchased:

  • Lifetime via AppSumo: AppSumo offers a 60-day refund window through their support team. Contact AppSumo to request a refund.
  • Pro subscription via TidyCal Stripe: Cancel at any time from the Stripe Customer Portal (Settings → Your plan → Manage subscription). Your subscription continues until the end of the current billing period and is not renewed. Pro subscriptions are eligible for a full refund within 7 days of the start of each billing period; contact support for a prorated refund after. See Refunds and Downgrades for the full policy.
  • Legacy Lifetime via TidyCal Stripe: Stripe Lifetime purchases include a 60-day refund window with a Request full refund or Downgrade to Individual option visible on Settings → Your plan within that window. See Refunds and Downgrades.

Can I switch between Pro Monthly and Pro Yearly?

The Stripe billing portal does not support mid-cycle plan changes. To switch, cancel your current subscription, wait for the period to end, and then subscribe to the other interval. See Switch Between Pro Monthly and Pro Yearly above.

What happens if my Pro subscription ends?

Your account reverts to its underlying plan at the end of the current billing period (Cashier default). If you had a Lifetime plan before subscribing to Pro, your account stays on that Lifetime plan. If you did not, it reverts to the Free Plan. Your data — bookings, calendars, contacts, Stripe connection — is preserved.

Why is the Individual to Agency upgrade only $50?

The $50 upgrade price reflects the difference between Individual Lifetime ($29) and Agency Lifetime ($79). You only pay the difference, not the full Agency price. This upgrade happens within AppSumo.

I already own a Lifetime plan. Should I subscribe to Pro?

Subscribe to Pro on top of an Agency Lifetime if you want to remove all TidyCal branding from your booking pages and use the Webpage Builder without footer branding. For an Individual Lifetime, subscribing to Pro adds team features, no booker branding, custom domain, and priority support.
