TidyCal Refunds and Downgrades

Learn how to cancel or refund your TidyCal plan. TidyCal Pro subscribers can request a refund within 7 days from the start of each billing period or contact support for a prorated refund after. Lifetime plan holders follow the channel-specific refund flow (AppSumo for new Lifetime purchases; legacy Stripe self-service for pre-Pro-launch TidyCal direct purchases).

Refund Options Overview

TidyCal offers three refund paths depending on how you purchased your plan:

Pro Subscription Cancel and Refund

The TidyCal Pro subscription ($12/month or $99/year) is sold directly on tidycal.com through Stripe. You can cancel from the Stripe Customer Portal at any time and you may be eligible for a refund.

7-day full refund window

Pro subscriptions are eligible for a full refund within 7 days of the start of each billing period. If you cancel within 7 days of subscribing (or within 7 days of a renewal billing date), contact support@tidycal.com and the TidyCal team will process a full refund to your original payment method.

The 7-day window resets at the start of each new billing period — monthly subscribers get a 7-day refund window each month, yearly subscribers get a 7-day refund window once per year at the renewal date.

Prorated refund after 7 days

If you cancel more than 7 days into a billing period, your subscription is not automatically refunded. To request a prorated refund for the unused portion of the current period, contact support@tidycal.com with your account email and reason for the refund. Prorated refunds are processed manually through Stripe and returned to your original payment method.

How to cancel your Pro subscription

  1. Go to SettingsYour plan.
  2. Click Manage subscription — this opens the Stripe Customer Portal in a new tab.
  3. Select the cancel option in the Stripe Customer Portal.
  4. Your Pro subscription stays active through the end of the current billing period; you will not be charged again.
  5. If you would like a refund (within the 7-day window or a prorated refund after), email support@tidycal.com with your account email.

What happens when Pro ends

  • Your data is preserved — bookings, calendars, contacts, Stripe connections, and booking types all remain in your account.
  • If you have an underlying Agency Lifetime or Individual Lifetime plan, your account reverts to that Lifetime tier when the Pro subscription ends. Lifetime features remain active.
  • If you do not have a Lifetime plan, your account reverts to the Free Plan. Paid-feature access is removed, but your data and Free Plan access remain.
  • Changing your mind before the period ends? Click Manage subscription again from the Stripe Customer Portal and resume the cancelled subscription.

Legacy Stripe Lifetime Refund

If you purchased your TidyCal Individual Plan or Agency Plan directly through Stripe on tidycal.com before the April 2026 Pro launch, you can request a self-service refund or downgrade within 60 days of your purchase date.

Note: New TidyCal Individual Lifetime and Agency Lifetime purchases are now sold exclusively through AppSumo (see AppSumo Lifetime Refund Process below). The 60-day self-service refund window described in this section applies only to legacy direct-Stripe purchases.

Two self-service options are available:

Full Refund (Revert to Free Plan)

A full refund returns the entire amount you paid and reverts your account to the Free Plan. This is available to Individual Plan and Agency Plan users who purchased directly via Stripe on tidycal.com.

What happens:

  • All Stripe payments made within the last 60 days are refunded
  • Your account is immediately downgraded to the Free Plan
  • You lose access to all paid features right away
  • The refund is returned to your original payment method

Downgrade (Agency Plan to Individual Plan)

If you are on the Agency Plan, you can downgrade to the Individual Plan instead of requesting a full refund. This gives you a partial refund of $50.00 (the price difference between the two plans).

What happens:

  • You receive a $50.00 refund to your original payment method
  • Your account is changed to the Individual Plan
  • You lose access to Agency-only features (Teams, SMS reminders, reply-to email)
  • All Individual Plan features remain active

How to Request a Lifetime Refund or Downgrade

This section applies to legacy Stripe Lifetime purchases only (pre-Pro-launch direct Stripe). For Pro subscription refunds, see Pro Subscription Cancel and Refund above. For AppSumo Lifetime refunds, see AppSumo Lifetime Refund Process below.

  1. Go to SettingsYour plan
  2. You will see one or both of these options (depending on your plan):
    • "Downgrade to Individual Plan" — available if you are on the Agency Plan
    • "Request full refund" — available if all your purchases are within the 60-day window
  3. Click the button for your preferred option
  4. A confirmation modal will appear showing:
    • The refund amount you will receive
    • What will happen to your account
    • An optional feedback field (helps us improve TidyCal)
  5. Review the details and click "Confirm downgrade" or "Confirm refund"
  6. Your refund will be processed via Stripe and returned to your original payment method

Go to Settings → Your plan

Purchase History

You can view your complete purchase history in SettingsYour plan. The purchase history table shows:

  • Date — when the transaction occurred
  • Plan — which plan was purchased (Individual Plan, Agency Plan, or Pro)
  • Action — the type of transaction (purchase, upgrade, refund, downgrade, or subscription renewal)
  • Refundable until — the last date you can request a self-service refund (for legacy Stripe Lifetime purchases, 60 days from purchase)
  • Amount — the amount paid or refunded
  • Invoice — a link to your Stripe receipt

Pro subscription invoices are also accessible from the Stripe Customer Portal (Settings → Your plan → Manage subscription).

AppSumo Lifetime Refund Process

If you purchased TidyCal Individual Lifetime or Agency Lifetime through AppSumo, the self-service refund option is not available in your Settings. Instead, follow the AppSumo refund process:

  1. Contact the TidyCal team at Originals@AppSumo.com if there is anything we can do to help
  2. If you still want a refund, follow the AppSumo refund process

You can find your AppSumo license code and invoice information in SettingsYour plan under the Billing History section.

Troubleshooting

I don't see the "Manage subscription" button (Pro)

  • The Manage subscription button only appears if you have an active Pro subscription. If you have not subscribed to Pro yet, you will see Subscribe to Pro instead.
  • Refresh the Settings → Your plan page; if the subscription was just activated, allow a few moments for it to appear.
  • If the issue persists, contact support at support@tidycal.com.

My Pro refund hasn't arrived

  • Stripe refunds typically take 5-10 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank.
  • Confirm with TidyCal support that the refund was processed: support@tidycal.com.

I don't see the Lifetime refund or downgrade button

  • 60-day window expired: Self-service Lifetime refund buttons are only shown if your direct-Stripe purchase was within the last 60 days. If the window has passed, please contact support at support@tidycal.com
  • Purchased via AppSumo: AppSumo purchases do not show self-service refund buttons. Use the AppSumo refund process instead
  • Pro subscription: Pro subscriptions do not appear on the legacy Lifetime refund flow. Cancel your Pro subscription from the Stripe Customer Portal (see How to cancel your Pro subscription) and contact support for refund processing
  • Free Plan: There is nothing to refund on the Free Plan

My refund request failed

  • If you see an error, try refreshing the page and submitting again
  • If the issue persists, contact support at support@tidycal.com

I haven't received my Lifetime refund yet

  • Stripe refunds typically take 5-10 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank
  • Check the purchase history in Settings → Your plan to confirm the refund was processed

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I cancel my Pro subscription anytime?

Yes. Cancel from the Stripe Customer Portal at any time (Settings → Your plan → Manage subscription). Your Pro subscription stays active through the end of the current billing period; you will not be charged again.

When can I get a Pro subscription refund?

Pro subscriptions are eligible for a full refund within 7 days of the start of each billing period. Contact support@tidycal.com within 7 days of subscribing or within 7 days of a renewal date for a full refund. After 7 days, contact support for a prorated refund for the unused portion of your billing period.

Can I get a Lifetime refund after 60 days?

The self-service Lifetime refund option is only available within 60 days of your direct-Stripe purchase. After that, please contact our support team at support@tidycal.com to discuss your options.

What is the difference between a downgrade and a full Lifetime refund?

A downgrade moves you from the Agency Plan to the Individual Plan with a $50.00 partial refund — you keep paid features at the Individual level. A full refund returns all money paid and reverts your account to the Free Plan, removing all paid features. Both apply to legacy Stripe Lifetime purchases only.

What happens to my data after a refund or Pro cancellation?

Your account remains active — your bookings, contacts, calendars, Stripe connections, and booking types are preserved. If you had a Lifetime plan and refunded it, you revert to the Free Plan and lose paid-feature access. If you cancelled a Pro subscription and you also have an Agency Lifetime or Individual Lifetime plan, your account reverts to that Lifetime tier when Pro ends. Otherwise you revert to the Free Plan.

Can I repurchase or resubscribe after getting a refund?

Yes. After a refund, you can subscribe to Pro again from the Pricing page, or purchase Individual Lifetime or Agency Lifetime through AppSumo. The Pro 7-day refund window resets each time you re-subscribe.
