TidyCal Directory - List Your Booking Types Publicly

List your booking types in the public TidyCal Directory to increase visibility and attract new clients. Visitors can browse by category, search for professionals, and book directly from the directory.

Overview

The TidyCal Directory is a public listing of booking types from TidyCal users. When you opt in, your booking types appear in the directory with your name, description, pricing, and a Book now button linking to your booking page.

Plan required: Individual Plan or Agency Plan

How to List a Booking Type

1. Go to Booking types in the sidebar
2. Edit the booking type you want to list
3. Go to the Visibility tab (in the drawer sidebar)
4. Toggle on "Display in the public TidyCal Directory."
5. Select a Directory category from the dropdown to help people find your booking type
6. Click Save

Your booking type will appear in the directory once saved. You can list multiple booking types — each one is toggled independently.

Directory Categories

Choose a category that best describes your service. Categories are organized into parent categories and subcategories. Some examples:

• Coaching — Life coaching, business coaching, career coaching
• Consulting — Strategy, management, financial consulting
• Education & Tutoring — Academic tutoring, language lessons, test prep
• Health & Wellness — Fitness, therapy, nutrition
• Creative Services — Photography, graphic design, writing
• Tech & Development — IT support, web development, data services

Select the most specific subcategory available. This helps visitors find your listing when browsing or filtering by category.

What Visitors See

Each listing in the directory shows:

• Your profile picture (or initials if no picture set)
• Your name
• Professional title or description
• Star ratings (if you have reviews enabled and have received ratings)
• Starting price (e.g., "Starting at $50 USD") or "Free" for unpaid booking types
• Book now button linking directly to your booking page

Browsing the Directory

The directory is publicly accessible at tidycal.com/directory. Visitors can:

• Search by name or keyword using the search box
• Browse by category using the category pills on the directory page
• Filter by subcategory on individual category pages

You can also access the directory from within TidyCal via the TidyCal logo dropdown → Directory (opens in a new tab).

Cover Image

You can set a cover image on your booking types to make them more visually appealing in the directory. Upload a cover image from the booking type editor. Recommended: high-quality image, at least 800px wide.

Tips for a Great Directory Listing

• Use a professional profile picture — at least 200x200px, square aspect ratio
• Write a clear, descriptive booking type title — include your service type (e.g., "60-Minute Business Strategy Consultation")
• Add a detailed description — explain what clients get, who it's for, and what to expect
• Enable reviews — star ratings appear on your listing and build trust. See Ratings and Reviews
• Choose the right category — the more specific, the better for discoverability
• Set competitive pricing — the "Starting at" price is shown prominently on your listing

Removing a Listing

To remove a booking type from the directory:

1. Edit the booking type
2. Go to the Visibility tab
3. Toggle off "Display in the public TidyCal Directory."
4. Click Save

The listing is removed immediately.

Troubleshooting

Directory toggle is disabled / greyed out

• The directory requires Individual Plan or Agency Plan. Free Plan users will see an Upgrade link instead of the toggle.

My listing isn't appearing in the directory

• Make sure the toggle is on in the Visibility tab
• Make sure you clicked Save after enabling the toggle
• Verify the booking type is enabled (not disabled or in private mode)

No star ratings on my listing

• Ratings only appear once you have received at least one review. See Ratings and Reviews to enable review collection.

Which plans can list in the directory?

Individual Plan and Agency Plan. Free Plan users cannot list booking types in the directory.

Can I list multiple booking types?

Yes. Each booking type has its own directory toggle. You can list as many as you want.

Can I list free booking types?

Yes. Free booking types show "Free" instead of a price in the directory listing.
