TidyCal Directory - List Your Booking Types Publicly

List your booking types in the public TidyCal Directory to increase visibility and attract new clients. Visitors can browse by category, search for professionals, and book directly from the directory.

Overview

The TidyCal Directory is a public listing of booking types from TidyCal users. When you opt in, your booking types appear in the directory with your name, description, pricing, and a Book now button linking to your booking page.

Plan required: None — the TidyCal Directory is available on all plans, including the Free Plan.

How to List a Booking Type

1. Go to Booking types in the sidebar
2. Edit the booking type you want to list
3. In the drawer's left nav, expand Advanced and click Visibility.
4. Toggle on "Display in the public TidyCal Directory."
5. Pick a Directory category from the dropdown. Without one, your booking type shows up in directory search but not on any category page.
6. Click Save at the top of the drawer.

Your booking type shows up in directory search as soon as you save. Category pages can take up to an hour to catch up. You can list multiple booking types — each one is toggled independently.

Directory Categories

Choose a category that best describes your service. Categories are organized into parent categories and subcategories. The current parent categories are:

• Creative Services — Graphic design, photography, video, writing, web design, illustration

• Marketing & Growth — Social media, SEO, content, email, brand strategy, paid advertising
• Legal & Finance — Legal consulting, tax prep, financial planning, bookkeeping, insurance, estate planning

Each parent category has six subcategories — pick the most specific one that describes your service. The more specific the subcategory, the better visitors can find your listing when browsing or filtering.

What Visitors See

On a category page, each listing shows:

• Your profile picture (or your first initial if no picture is set)
• Your name
• The booking type's title and description
• Star rating and review count, once the booking type has received reviews
• Price under a Starting at label (for example, $50.00), or Free
• A Book now button linking directly to your booking page

Directory search results use a slightly different card: it also shows your time zone, the session length and your language, and the whole card links to your booking page. Stars appear on a search result only when Show reviews on booking page. is on in the Visibility tab.

Browsing the Directory

The directory is publicly accessible at tidycal.com/directory. Visitors can:

• Search by name or keyword using the search box
• Browse by category using the category cards under Browse by category
• Filter by subcategory on individual category pages
• Narrow search results with the category and subcategory pills above them

You can also access the directory from within TidyCal via the TidyCal logo dropdown → Directory (opens in a new tab).

Tips for a Great Directory Listing

• Use a clear profile picture — it appears as a small circle beside your name, so a square photo works best
• Write a clear, descriptive booking type title — include your service type (e.g., "60-Minute Business Strategy Consultation")
• Add a detailed description — explain what clients get, who it's for, and what to expect
• Enable reviews — star ratings appear on your listing and build trust. See Ratings and Reviews
• Choose the right category — the more specific, the better for discoverability
• Set competitive pricing — the "Starting at" price is shown prominently on your listing

Removing a Listing

To remove a booking type from the directory:

1. Edit the booking type
2. Expand Advanced and click Visibility
3. Toggle off "Display in the public TidyCal Directory."
4. Click Save at the top of the drawer

The listing drops out of directory search straight away and off category pages within about an hour.

Troubleshooting

Directory toggle is disabled / greyed out

• The directory toggle is available on every plan, including the Free Plan. The upgrade lock that used to appear on the Free Plan has been removed. If the toggle still looks disabled, reload the booking type editor.

My listing isn't appearing in the directory

• Make sure the toggle is on in the Visibility tab.
• Make sure you clicked Save after enabling the toggle.
• Verify Hide from public profile; share via direct link only. is off on the same Visibility tab. Private booking types do not appear in the directory, even with the directory toggle on.
• Make sure the booking type itself is enabled — a disabled booking type is excluded from the directory. Your listing also requires an account in good standing; suspended accounts are left out.
• Make sure a Directory category is selected. A booking type without a category appears in directory search but on no category page.
• Category pages can take up to an hour to show a new listing. Directory search shows it as soon as you save, so search for your name to check.

No star ratings on my listing

• Ratings only appear once the booking type has received at least one review. See Ratings and Reviews to enable review collection.
• In directory search results, stars also need Show reviews on booking page. switched on in the Visibility tab. Category pages show them either way.

Which plans can list in the directory?

All of them. The TidyCal Directory is free on every plan, including the Free Plan. A booking type is listed when you switch on Display in the public TidyCal Directory., the booking type is enabled, and your account is in good standing.

Can I list multiple booking types?

Yes. Each booking type has its own directory toggle. You can list as many as you want.

Can I list free booking types?

Yes. Free booking types show "Free" instead of a price in the directory listing.

Does my listing help with SEO?

It can. Directory category pages carry structured data (JSON-LD) that lists each provider, plus breadcrumbs and readable URLs, which help search engines understand them. Search engines decide what they rank, so a listing is not guaranteed to appear in their results.
