TidyCal Directory - List Your Booking Types Publicly

List your booking types in the public TidyCal Directory to increase visibility and attract new clients. Visitors can browse by category, search for professionals, and book directly from the directory.

Overview

The TidyCal Directory is a public listing of booking types from TidyCal users. When you opt in, your booking types appear in the directory with your name, description, pricing, and a Book now button linking to your booking page.

Plan required: Individual Plan, Pro, or Agency Plan

How to List a Booking Type

1. Go to Booking types in the sidebar
2. Edit the booking type you want to list
3. In the drawer's left nav, click Visibility (last tab in the list).
4. Toggle on "Display in the public TidyCal Directory."
5. Select a Directory category from the dropdown to help people find your booking type
6. Click Save

Your booking type will appear in the directory once saved. You can list multiple booking types — each one is toggled independently.

Directory Categories

Choose a category that best describes your service. Categories are organized into parent categories and subcategories. The current parent categories are:

• Coaching — Life, career, executive, relationship, health, financial coaching
• Consulting — Business, management, HR, strategy, operations, startup
• Therapy & Counseling — Individual, couples, family, grief, addiction, child therapy
• Health & Wellness — Nutrition, personal training, yoga, meditation, physical therapy, mental wellness
• Education & Tutoring — Academic tutoring, language lessons, test prep, music lessons, STEM, professional development
• Creative Services — Graphic design, photography, video, writing, web design, illustration
• Tech & Development — Web and mobile development, IT consulting, data & analytics, cybersecurity, AI & ML
• Marketing & Growth — Social media, SEO, content, email, brand strategy, paid advertising
• Legal & Finance — Legal consulting, tax prep, financial planning, bookkeeping, insurance, estate planning

Each parent category has six subcategories — pick the most specific one that describes your service. The more specific the subcategory, the better visitors can find your listing when browsing or filtering.

What Visitors See

Each listing in the directory shows:

• Your profile picture (or initials if no picture set)
• Your name
• Professional title or description
• Star ratings (if you have reviews enabled and have received ratings)
• Starting price (e.g., "Starting at $50 USD") or "Free" for unpaid booking types
• Book now button linking directly to your booking page

Browsing the Directory

The directory is publicly accessible at tidycal.com/directory. Visitors can:

• Search by name or keyword using the search box
• Browse by category using the category pills on the directory page
• Filter by subcategory on individual category pages

You can also access the directory from within TidyCal via the TidyCal logo dropdown → Directory (opens in a new tab).

Cover Image

Add a cover image to make your listing stand out in the directory. The cover image section only appears in the Visibility tab after you toggle on Display in the public TidyCal Directory. — it renders below the Directory category dropdown.

Steps:

1. Make sure the directory toggle is on and a category is selected.
2. Under Directory cover image:, click Upload image.
3. Select an image from your device. A preview appears after upload.
4. To replace it later, click Change image. To remove it, click Remove.
5. Click Save at the bottom of the drawer.

Recommended size: 2:1 aspect ratio (e.g., 600×300 pixels). Use a clean, high-quality image — photos of yourself, your workspace, or your branding all work well.

Tips for a Great Directory Listing

• Use a professional profile picture — at least 200x200px, square aspect ratio
• Write a clear, descriptive booking type title — include your service type (e.g., "60-Minute Business Strategy Consultation")
• Add a detailed description — explain what clients get, who it's for, and what to expect
• Enable reviews — star ratings appear on your listing and build trust. See Ratings and Reviews
• Choose the right category — the more specific, the better for discoverability
• Set competitive pricing — the "Starting at" price is shown prominently on your listing

Removing a Listing

To remove a booking type from the directory:

1. Edit the booking type
2. Go to the Visibility tab
3. Toggle off "Display in the public TidyCal Directory."
4. Click Save

The listing is removed immediately.

Troubleshooting

Directory toggle is disabled / greyed out

• The directory requires Individual Plan, Pro, or Agency Plan. On the Free Plan, the toggle appears but is disabled, and an Upgrade to list in the TidyCal Directory. link appears below it. See What is TidyCal? for plan comparison.

My listing isn't appearing in the directory

• Make sure the toggle is on in the Visibility tab.
• Make sure you clicked Save after enabling the toggle.
• Verify the booking type is enabled (not disabled) on your booking types list.
• Verify Hide from public profile; share via direct link only. is off on the same Visibility tab. Private booking types do not appear in the directory, even with the directory toggle on.
• Make sure you are on the Individual Plan, Pro, or Agency Plan. Downgrading removes your listings from the directory.
• Allow a few minutes for the listing to propagate. Clear your browser cache or try an incognito window if it still does not appear.

No star ratings on my listing

• Ratings only appear once you have received at least one review. See Ratings and Reviews to enable review collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which plans can list in the directory?

Individual Plan, Pro, and Agency Plan. Free Plan users cannot list booking types in the directory.

Can I list multiple booking types?

Yes. Each booking type has its own directory toggle. You can list as many as you want.

Can I list free booking types?

Yes. Free booking types show "Free" instead of a price in the directory listing.

Does my listing help with SEO?

Yes. Directory pages include structured data (JSON-LD schema) for search engines, breadcrumb navigation, and SEO-optimized URLs. Your listing may appear in search results for your category and service type.
