Promote - Social Media Assets

Create branded social media graphics and post directly to LinkedIn from the Promote page in TidyCal. Customize your assets with fonts, colors, and headlines, then download or share them — available on all TidyCal plans (Free, Individual, Agency, and Pro).

Overview

The Promote page is a two-part workflow for marketing your booking page on social media:

  1. Generate post — Choose a booking type, customize your headline, font, and accent color, then preview three branded asset formats.
  2. Review & post — Connect your LinkedIn account, write a caption, and post directly to LinkedIn with one click. You can also download assets for use on any platform.

Asset Types

Asset Dimensions Use for
LinkedIn post 1200 × 627 px Feed posts with your profile photo and headline
LinkedIn header 1584 × 396 px Profile banner / cover image
Instagram story 1080 × 1920 px Vertical stories with centered profile photo

Each asset displays your profile picture (or a placeholder icon if none is set), a gradient background in your chosen accent color, and a TidyCal watermark. Assets download as JPG files.

Accessing Promote

  1. Log in to your TidyCal account.
  2. Click Promote in the sidebar (under the Marketing section).

On mobile, tap More in the bottom navigation bar, then tap Promote.

Step 1: Generate Your Post

Choosing a booking type

Use the Booking type dropdown at the top of the page to choose which booking type your assets feature:

  • General — Uses a customizable headline (e.g., “Schedule time with me”) and shows your booking page URL. This option only appears when you have more than one booking type.
  • A specific booking type — The assets display the booking type title instead of the headline. The headline field is hidden when a specific booking type is selected.

Disabled booking types and date polls do not appear in the dropdown.

Your booking link is shown next to the dropdown. Click Copy link to copy it to your clipboard. If you have a custom domain configured, the link uses your custom domain automatically.

Customizing your assets

Below the booking type selector, a toolbar lets you personalize how your assets look. Changes appear in the live preview cards immediately.

Headline — Sets the main text on your assets when General is selected. The default is “Schedule time with me.” You can enter up to 80 characters. The headline field is hidden when a specific booking type is selected.

Font — Click the Font dropdown to choose from 10 available fonts:

  • Inter (default)
  • DM Sans
  • Libre Baskerville
  • Space Grotesk
  • Cormorant
  • Geist
  • Instrument Serif
  • Instrument Sans
  • Playfair Display
  • Poppins

Color — Click any of the 8 preset accent colors to apply it instantly. To use a custom color, click the + circle at the end of the row to open the color picker. The accent color determines the gradient background on all three assets.

Click Save preferences to save your headline, font, and accent color. Your preferences are remembered the next time you visit the Promote page.

Downloading assets

Each asset card shows a live preview. To download an asset:

  1. Customize your headline, font, and color.
  2. Click Download below the preview card you want.
  3. The file downloads as a JPG image sized for the platform.

Downloads are limited to 5 per minute.

Step 2: Review & Post to LinkedIn

The right side of the Promote page (or below the assets on mobile) lets you post a branded image directly to your LinkedIn feed.

Connecting your LinkedIn account

  1. In the Review & post section, click Connect LinkedIn.
  2. You will be redirected to LinkedIn to authorize TidyCal. TidyCal requests permission to view your profile and post on your behalf.
  3. After you approve, you are redirected back to the Promote page with your LinkedIn account connected.

Your connection is remembered until you disconnect or the token expires. If your token expires, click Reconnect LinkedIn to re-authorize.

Creating a LinkedIn post

  1. Make sure your assets are customized the way you want (headline, font, color, booking type).
  2. In the Review & post section, write your caption in the text area (up to 3,000 characters). A default caption is pre-filled to help you get started.
  3. Preview your post — the branded LinkedIn post image (1200 × 627) is shown below the caption.
  4. Click Post to LinkedIn.

Your post appears on your LinkedIn feed as a public post with the branded image attached.

Tip: After posting, paste your booking link as the first comment for better reach. Click Copy link for first comment to copy it.

Disconnecting LinkedIn

To disconnect your LinkedIn account, remove TidyCal from your LinkedIn authorized applications in your LinkedIn settings. Within TidyCal, the connection will show as expired, and you can reconnect at any time.

Adding a Booking Link to Your LinkedIn Profile

When you first visit the Promote page, a task card prompts you to add a “Book an appointment” button to your LinkedIn profile. This makes your booking link visible to anyone viewing your LinkedIn profile.

  1. Click Copy booking link on the task card.
  2. Click Open LinkedIn settings to go to your LinkedIn profile settings.
  3. In your LinkedIn profile, add a “Book an appointment” button using the copied link.

You can dismiss this task card once you have completed it. Dismissing it does not affect any other preferences.

Troubleshooting

I don’t see the Headline field

The Headline field only appears when General is selected as the booking type. If you have selected a specific booking type, the assets automatically use the booking type title. Switch the dropdown back to General to see the Headline input.

If you have only one booking type, the General option does not appear — the assets always feature that booking type.

My profile picture is not showing on the assets

If no profile picture is set, the assets display a placeholder icon. To add a profile picture, go to Settings and upload a photo in your profile section.

Download is not working

Downloads are limited to 5 per minute. If clicking Download does not start a download:

  • Wait a moment and try again.
  • Disable browser extensions that might block downloads.
  • Try a different browser.

If the issue persists, contact support@tidycal.com.

LinkedIn connection expired

If you see “Your LinkedIn connection has expired,” click Reconnect LinkedIn to re-authorize. This re-opens the LinkedIn authorization flow.

LinkedIn post failed

If posting fails, check that:

  • Your LinkedIn account is still connected (not expired).
  • You have not exceeded 5 posts per minute.
  • Your internet connection is stable.

If the error persists, try disconnecting and reconnecting your LinkedIn account. If it still fails, contact support@tidycal.com.
