How do time zones work in TidyCal?
How time zones work in TidyCal: set yours in Settings > Preferences > Timezone, and clients automatically see your availability in their local time. Every plan.
Setting your timezone
- In the sidebar, go to Settings > Preferences (see How to Change Your TidyCal Account Settings).
- Find the Timezone dropdown. It is a searchable dropdown - type to find your timezone quickly.
- Select your timezone.
- Click Save changes.
How timezone conversion works
- Your availability schedules are set in your timezone.
- When a client visits your booking page, TidyCal detects their timezone and shows available times converted to their local time.
- Calendar events are created with the correct timezone for both you and the client.
- Email confirmations show times in each person's local timezone.
Time format
In Settings > Preferences, you can choose between:
- 12 hour format (e.g., 2:30 PM)
- 24 hour format (e.g., 14:30)
A live preview shows the current time in your selected format.
Troubleshooting
Clients seeing wrong times
- Verify your timezone is set correctly in Settings > Preferences.
- Ask the client to check their browser's timezone settings, or to pick the right one in the Timezone dropdown on your booking page.
- Contact support@tidycal.com if times appear incorrect.
A client wants to see times in another time zone
- Clients can change the Timezone dropdown on your booking page, for example when booking a meeting they will attend from another city. Times update straight away.
