Why is my calendar availability not showing correctly?

It can be frustrating when the availability you expect to see isn't showing up on your booking page. This is almost always due to a setting either in TidyCal or on your connected calendar.

Let's walk through the most common causes, from most likely to least likely.

1. Check Your Connected Calendar for Busy Events

This is the #1 reason for missing availability. TidyCal is correctly reading an event on your Google or Outlook calendar that is marked as "Busy."

  • Look for All-Day Events: Do you have an "All-Day" event on your calendar (like a birthday or a reminder)? By default, many calendars mark these events as "Busy," which will block your entire day in TidyCal.
    • Solution: Find the all-day event on your Google/Outlook calendar, edit it, and change its status from "Busy" to "Free." TidyCal will then ignore it and show your correct availability.
  • Look for Tentative Events: Some calendars mark events you've been invited to but haven't accepted as "Busy." Check for any appointments that might be blocking your time.

2. Check the Availability Set on Your Booking Type

You may have set specific hours on the booking type itself that are overriding your general availability.

  • Solution: Go to the specific Booking Type in TidyCal and scroll down to the "Availablity" section. Ensure the hours listed there are correct and haven't been accidentally removed or changed.

3. Check Your Buffers and Minimum Notice Period

Advanced settings can also remove available slots.

  • Buffers: If you have a 30-minute meeting with a 15-minute buffer after it, TidyCal blocks a 45-minute chunk of time. This can prevent slots from showing where you might expect them.
  • Minimum Scheduling Notice: If you set a "24-hour" minimum notice, clients will not be able to book you for any time within the next 24 hours.

4. Check That the Correct Calendar is Connected

Ensure you have connected the primary calendar where you keep your appointments. If your events are on your "Work" calendar but you only connected your "Personal" calendar to TidyCal, it won't see your conflicts.
